BTS Jungkook Follows OMAD Diet: BTS’ most awaited comeback with all its members, V, Jungkook, Jimin, Jhope, Jin, RM and Suga, is already making a huge deal on the Internet. And now, the youngest member of the group, phenomenal vocalist and global icon, Junkook, has revealed in an interview that he is following an OMAD diet. Do you know what this diet is about and how it works?
“These days, I’m on a diet and only eat one meal a day,” Jungkook states. “So I really look forward to that one meal. I find myself thinking, ‘What should I eat today?’ When I finally eat, I feel a sense of achievement,” he shared in an interview with Rolling Stone, ahead of the ARIRANG world tour.
Given the immense influence of BTS around the world, especially on young fans, we sought to find out if the OMAD diet is truly sustainable. In conversation with The Daily Jagran, Ms Priya Palan, a dietician at Zen Multispecialty Hospital in Chembur, provided insights into the diet.

A dietitian explained, “The OMAD (One Meal A Day) diet is now followed by a large number of people. It is a type of intermittent fasting where a person eats only one main meal in a day and tends to fast for the remaining hours, usually for about 23 hours.”
She also listed things you can consume during the diet, stating, “During the fasting period, only water, black coffee, or other non-calorie drinks are recommended. The diet can help to control weight as it reduces the total number of calories consumed in a day.”
Benefits Of The OMAD Diet, According To An Expert:
1. Since you are eating only once, it becomes harder to overeat frequently, and it is possible to maintain an optimum weight.
2. When the body stays without food for a long time, it starts using stored fat as energy. This can lead to gradual weight loss and improve the quality of life.
3. OMAD can also help to improve insulin sensitivity, which means the body can manage blood sugar in a better way.
4. Some people find that it reduces cravings and helps them become more mindful about what they eat.
However, Priya, dieticiuan, also cautiously suggested, “OMAD is not suitable for everyone. It may cause weakness, headaches, irritability, or nutritional deficiencies if the single meal is not balanced. Such diets are not suitable without expert supervision.”
Who Should Not Follow The OMAD Diet:
- Pregnant women
- People with diabetes
- People with medical conditions
And it is also recommended to always consult an expert before adopting any new diet. Lastly, Priya also stated that, “the long-term effects are not yet proven, hence following a healthy, balanced diet is a way to your healthy well-being.”
