Menopause is a dynamic stage that signifies changes in the hormonal levels that may affect a woman’s energy and vitality, among other issues, but Ayurvedic menopause management provides an organic way towards achieving balance and harmony. Through ancient Ayurvedic knowledge and practices, authorities reveal that herbs such as Shatavari can balance female hormones, Ashwagandha helps deal with stress and weakness, and Guduchi is essential for detox and boosting immunity. These Ayurvedic solutions and remedies, designed specifically for menopause symptoms, address the roots rather than treating the symptoms that may result from other medications. 1. In Ayurveda, menopause marks a shift in your body from a Pitta (heat/fire) -dominated phase to a Vata-dominated phase.

It is also a time during which Ojas (your body’s vital energy) becomes depleted. Mr Sharmilee Kapur states, “Ayurveda recommends practices such as consuming Ojas-boosting foods, such as dates soaked in ghee and blanched almonds with saffron, along with Nasya therapy.” These methods aim to preserve this subtle energy, supporting immunity and vitality amid hormonal changes.

2. Ayurveda emphasises the importance of timing for women in menopause. By aligning daily routines (dincharya) with the Doshic clock, women can alleviate symptoms rather than experience turmoil.
For example, during Pitta hours (10am–2pm, 10pm–2am), cooling practices like meditation, Sheetkari Pranayama, earthing, and journaling are recommended. Vatahours (2am–6am, 2pm-6pm) are ideal for gentle movement, warm oil therapies, aromatherapy, and warm meals. During the Kapha hours (6am–10am, 6pm-10pm), moderate movement, light walks, and early dinners are must-dos.

3. Easing menopausal symptoms by stimulating specific marma points, which are vital energy centres, is another great Ayurveda hack.
Daily oil therapies and gentle self-massages with warm oils help combat Vata dryness and eases circulation. Mr Sharmilee Kapur says, “Specifically, applying gentle pressure and circular motions to the Guda Marma and Basti Marma located in the pelvic area can help balance pelvic energy flow.” This lesser-known technique offers a way to manage urogenital symptoms without internal procedures.
4. Cooling herbs such as Shatavari contain phytoestrogens that help play a pivotal role in regulating the hormonal ups and downs.
