Iran-US-Israel War: Fears of a possible shortage of petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) due to the ongoing West Asia conflict triggered panic buying at several petrol pumps in parts of Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Residents rushed to the petrol pumps in Nighasan, Pallia and Bhira to stock up on petrol and diesel, leading to long queues across many outlets.
District Supply Officer Anjani Kumar Singh called the rumours 'baseless', assuring that there was no shortage of petroleum, diesel and LPG in the district.
Speaking to news agency PTI, Singh said, "The rumours of shortage of petrol, diesel or LPG in Kheri district are baseless and unfounded," adding that adequate stocks of petroleum products were available and urged residents to purchase only according to their needs.
