In a unique turn of events, a woman allegedly driving on the wrong side of a busy road in Delhi sparked a major traffic jam after refusing to reverse her vehicle despite repeated requests from other motorists. A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the woman arguing with bystanders as traffic remained at a standstill.
The footage has captured a hatchback squarely in the front of a truck, causing traffic going in the other direction to come to a standstill. While this continued to happen, several motorists and pedestrians approached the car, asking the woman to move.

When people asked her to reverse, she refused, saying, “I’m a lady” 😳 pic.twitter.com/ZDLQRT6HBY
The person recording the video claimed that the woman had entered the road from the wrong side and was unwilling to move back. He further alleged that she attempted to justify her stance by saying, "I'm a lady."
Addressing the driver, the man filming the incident can be heard saying, "Do you know how long the traffic jam is? It is because of you, ma’am. You take it back."
The clip went viral on the internet within a very short span of time, with viewers started raising questions about the women's behaviour and about the non-presence of traffic cops. One user wrote, "Her license should be cancelled for life, and a big, heavy fine should be imposed on her. Where are the traffic police?"
Another commented, "Somehow, Delhiites usually show entitlement even for small issues."
Reacting to the incident, one social media user said, "Police should have asked her the Law that allows women to drive on the wrong side, causing a massive jam. The woman should have been challenged for this act, but why didn't the police?"

The incident also triggered a discussion about gender bias in reactions to road rage incidents. One user pointed out, "The majority of accidents and road nuisance issues are caused by men. They drive on the wrong side and park in the middle of the road. But if a woman does something wrong, the entire gender is crucified. If it were a man in the car, the person shooting the video wouldn’t dare raise his voice."
The viral clip continues to draw strong reactions online, with many calling for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and greater accountability from all road users.
