Amid the huge row over his unpublished book, Former Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane on Sunday clarified that his book "Four Stars of Destiny" has not been published yet. While sharing the statement of Penguin India on X, Gen Naravane asserted that no authorised copies of the book are currently in circulation. In its post, Penguin India stated that no copy of the book has been published or made public by the publisher.
A massive row erupted during the ongoing Budget session of the parliament after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tried to quote few lines of his book describing the situation during the clash between India and China back in 2020. However, the BJP leaders objected by stating that the book has not been issued yet.

Earlier on Monday, Penguin Random House India asserted that the book has not gone into publication, adding that any versions of the book currently in circulation constitute copyright infringement. "We wish to make it clear that the book has not gone into publication. No copies of the book - in print or digital form - have been published, distributed, sold, or otherwise made available to the public by Penguin Random House India," the statement read.

"Any copies of the book currently in circulation, in whole or in part, whether in print, digital, PDF, or any other format, online or offline, on any platform, constitute an infringement of PRHI’s copyright and must immediately be ceased," the company said.
However, Gandhi, while referring to a post by Gen Naravane in 2023 accused the publisher of lying and asserted that he believed in the former Chief of Army Staff. "Hello friends, my book is available now. Just follow the link. Happy Reading, Jai Hind. This is the tweet Mr Naravane made. Either he is lying, which I don't believe, or the Penguin (publisher) is lying. Both cannot be telling the truth. Penguin says the book has not been published. But the book is available on Amazon," Rahul Gandhi said outside Parliament.
