A 24-year-old woman, pursuing postgraduation in dentistry, has allegedly died by suicide at her home due to mental harassment by her boyfriend in Mumbai.

According to a report by NDTV, the deceased has been identified as Stuti Sonwane. She was in a relationship with a man who suspected her of cheating.

He used to harass her by making hurtful remarks about her character. A six-page suicide note was found in Stuti's detailing how her suspicion made her relationship toxic.

The suicide note reportedly mentions Delhi's infamous Shraddha Walkar murder case, in which the 27-year-old woman was killed by her boyfriend, Aftab Poonawalla.

Poonawalla chopped her body parts to dispose of them. Some of the parts were found in his refrigerator.

Stuti's suicide note says that her friends knew about her sufferings in the relationship and would warn her that one day she would end up in a refrigerator (akin to the Shradha Walkar case). The note, as reported by NDTV, mentions her friends' warning, "Fridge me milegi." (You would be found in a fridge one day.)

Stuti used to live with her parents and sister in Mumbai's Antop Hill. On Monday morning, she did not step out of her room till about 11 am. When her parents knowcked the door and called her name, they got no response, triggering fear of something happening. They broke open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling.

They rushed her to a hospital, but the doctors declared her dead. The police have started an investigation and have registered a case of unnatural death. The cops are now investigating the role of her boyfriend.

As part of the investigation, the police are recording statements of her family members. 

Man injured in mutton chopper atttack

In a separate incident on March 4, a man attacked an acquaintance with a sharp object, suspecting him of having an affair with his wife in Maharashtra's Thane district.

According to a report by news agency PTI, an official said that the incident occurred in the Kamathghar locality of Bhiwandi.

The accused has been identified as Vijay Ragho Saha, who allegedly attacked Neeraj Subash Saha (20) with a mutton chopper, severely injuring him, the official said.
