The month of March started off quite hot in Delhi on Sunday as the temperature crossed 30 degrees on the very first day of the month.
Last time this happened was in 2023 when the temperature clocked 31 degrees Celsius. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), both heat and temperature will continuously increase in the coming days.
Amidst clear skies and bright sunshine throughout the day, the maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius, 4.6 degrees above normal. If we look at the previous years, the maximum temperature on March 1 in 2025 was 28.6 degrees Celsius, while in 2024 it was 29.6 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature on Sunday was 15.4 degrees Celsius, 2.9 degrees above normal. The humidity level in the air was recorded at 89 to 32 percent.
How will be weather on Monday?
The weather department has predicted clear skies throughout the day on Monday, with bright sunshine. Surface winds will blow at speeds of 15 to 25 km per hour.

Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 31 and 15 degrees Celsius, respectively. Meanwhile, heat and temperatures are expected to rise throughout the week. By the weekend, temperatures will reach 35 and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Delhi air quality
On the other hand, Delhi's air remained clean on Sunday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the national capital's AQI was recorded at 191 on Sunday. This is considered "moderate." This figure is unlikely to change significantly in the near future.
