Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Express Update: In good news for commuters travelling on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is seriously considering extending the daily operating hours, given the steadily increasing number of passengers on this route.
According to the current schedule, the Namo Bharat Express operates from 6 AM to 10 PM. The first train from both Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram arrives at 6 AM, while the last train departs for its destination at 10 PM.
Expected change in timings
Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, NCRTC is considering extending it till 11 pm on the lines of Delhi Metro.
This means that the last train will depart at 11 PM on both sides. The extended timing will benefit students and people returning from offices, evening colleges, and their business establishments late at night.
18 additional rounds added
Due to increased passenger traffic, the NCRTC recently increased the number of trips on the Namo Bharat Express. Previously, a total of 192 trips were operated daily, but due to recent passenger pressure, 18 additional trips have been added. Now, a total of 210 trips are operated daily.
A senior official of NCRTC said that not only is the number of passengers continuously increasing, demands have also started rising to increase its operating time.
Discussions are now underway at the management level to extend the deadline. He expressed hope that a formal announcement to this effect could be made in the coming days.
