A man was stabbed to death in a love triangle murder by the lover of his live-in partner, a Kannada actor, in Bengaluru's Manjunathanagar.
The actor and her lover planned the murder after they decided to marry each other. The police have identified the victim as Mohan Rao. Rao was killed on February 18.
Murder after Kannada actor decided to marry lover
According to reports, the accused actor Urmila alias Bindu acted in small roles in Kannada films such as Bhajarangi, Police Quarters, and Kalabhairava.
The police said that Bindu and her lover, Vinay, had decided to get married. The cops believe that the duo hatched a plan to kill Rao, as he was already living with Bindu in a live-in relationship.
Woman intoxicated victim, gagged with tape
As part of the plan hatched by Bindu and Vinay, she organised a party at the place where she was living with Rao.
Together, they drank alcohol at the party, after which Mohan was allegedly attacked and murdered. Bindu's love for Vinay, with the help of his friend Dhanush, is suspected of having stabbed Rao.
When Rao tried to scream in pain for help, Bindu, allegedly, put a tape on his mouth and nose. She allegedly tied his hands and legs, too. Police suspect that Rao succumbed due to suffocation combined with injuries. After killing Rao, the accused fled the scene.
Murder reported after 12 days
The murder came to light after 12 days when the neighbours sensed a foul smell emanating from the house. The neighbours called the police immediately, after which the investigation was launched. The police arrested all three accused.
