Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after the actress faced online criticism over her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. Known for speaking openly on social media, Kangana shared a strong message about fashion, individuality and age-shaming. Her post quickly gained attention online as she defended Aishwarya and criticised people trolling the actress for her physical appearance on the Cannes red carpet.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the Cannes Film Festival 2026 on May 22 in a custom royal blue gown designed by Amit Aggarwal. Soon after photos from the event surfaced online some social media users criticised the actress and commented on her body transformation years after pregnancy.
Reacting to the trolling, Kangana Ranaut shared a powerful note on her Instagram Stories and defended the actress against negative comments.

In her social media post, Kangana Ranaut spoke about fashion being a form of self-expression and individuality.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the event with daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who wore a red silk outfit with a matching drape.
For her first appearance, Aishwarya chose a royal blue gown by Amit Aggarwal. She later appeared in a powder pink outfit from Sophie Couture and also wore a white pantsuit styled with a feather stole.
For her latest appearance and interview session, the actress selected a custom couture outfit designed by Fjolla Nil. Her Cannes appearances continued to create discussion across social media and fashion circles.
