Salim Khan Health Live Update: Doctor Shares Salman Khan's Father Suffered Minor Brain Haemorrhage; Sangeeta Bijlani, Lulia Vantur Visit

Addressing the media, Dr Jalil Parkar said that contrary to reports, Khan was not in critical condition. He explained that Khan was shifted to the ICU due to jerks and high blood pressure and was put on a ventilator only as a precaution while tests were conducted.

Providing a health update, Dr Jalil Parkar, who is overseeing Salim Khan’s treatment, said that the veteran writer’s condition is currently stable. He added that if his recovery continues as expected, doctors are hopeful of taking him off ventilator support by tomorrow. According to a report in NDTV, Salim Khan was brought to the emergency department of Lilavati Hospital by their family doctor, Dr. Sandeep Chopra. Dr Jalil Parkar said in a statement, "An official news bulletin was released at around 1.00 pm today dated February 18, 2026 with the consent of the relatives which was meant to be crisp and factual. Yesterday i.e. February 17, 2026, at 8.30 am."

According to official statement shared by the doctors of Lilavati Hospital, Salkim Khan suffered minimal brain hemorrhage. A minimal brain hemorrhage refers to a small, localised bleed within the brain tissue or the surrounding space. Often called a 'microbleed,' these are frequently detected through high-sensitivity MRI scans.

Dr Jalil Parkar (Pulmonologist) addressing the press said, “Yesterday morning he (Salim Khan) was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital. He was brought in by his family physician, whose name is Dr Sandeep Chopra. After seeing him in the casualty and giving him some medication, we realised that he needed ICU hospitalisation and we took him to the ICU. He was having jerks, and his blood pressure was high, for which we treated him and we had to put him on the ventilator because we wanted to do certain investigations. Now, the ventilator that was put was as a safeguard, so that he doesn’t worsen. So it was not that he was critical as you all have said on various channels.”,
