After the death of Anand Sagar, son of legendary filmmaker Ramanand Sagar, on 13th February 2026, the prayer meet for him was held on February 16 in Mumbai. The event witnessed the presence of many known faces from the world of cinema and television. The prayer meeting was attended by family members, friends, and many celebrities who came to pay their last respects and offer condolences to the family. The environment was filled with emotions as the entertainment industry remembered the contribution of Anand Sagar.

Many prominent stars attended the prayer meet to stand in solidarity with the Sagar family. Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan arrived to offer her condolences. Dream Girl Hema Malini was also seen at the venue, expressing her support to the bereaved family. Singer Sonu Nigam and veteran actor Raza Murad also arrived there. Sunil Lahro, Poonam Dhillon, and Padmini Kolhapure were also seen in the prayer meet. 

Apart from them, several television actors, filmmakers, and close associates from the industry marked their presence. The gathering reflected the deep respect and strong bonds Anand Sagar shared within the entertainment world.

Anand Sagar was a well-known director and producer who carried forward the rich legacy of his father, Ramanand Sagar, who is well known for making the TV show Ramayana. Anand Sagar played an important role in producing and directing mythological and devotional television shows under the Sagar banner. These shows include Sai Baba, Jai Jai Shivshankar, Jai Jai Bajrangbali, Gurmeet Choudhary’s Ramayana, Alif Laila and several other shows. 

The Sagar family is best known for iconic shows like Ramayan, which created history on Indian television. Anand Sagar worked tirelessly behind the scenes to maintain the family’s strong reputation in mythological storytelling and television production.

Family He Leaves Behind

Anand Sagar, who left this world at the age of 84 years, is survived by his wife Nisha Sagar, two sons, Shakti Sagar and Amar Sagar, one daughter, Gauri Sagar,r along with his daughter-in-law and grandchildren, who are deeply affected by his sudden demise. Friends and well-wishers have been offering strength and prayers to his wife and children during this difficult time. His passing is a great loss to his family and the entertainment industry alike.
