CBSE Class 10 Social Science Exam Analysis 2026: The Social Science exam is now over. Most of the students found the paper well balanced among all four sections, namely History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics.
The questions followed the prescribed CBSE syllabus and NCERT textbooks, as per many. Overall reactions suggested that the paper was moderately easy and well-balanced.

A total of 37 questions were asked in the Social Science paper, comprising MCQs, long, and short type questions. The theory paper carries 80 marks, while 20 marks are assigned to the internal assessment.

CBSE Class 10 Social Science Exam Analysis 2026: Students’ Feedback
Students suggested that the questions were asked directly from the syllabus and were well structured. There were some questions that required a thorough understanding of facts rather than rote memorization.
Direct and analytical questions were well balanced according to the students. Besides, case-based questions evaluated candidates' theoretical knowledge of situations.
CBSE Class 10 Social Science Exam Analysis 2026: Expert’s Analysis
Subject experts and teachers have analyzed the Social Science paper and rated it as moderately easy. According to them, those who have followed the NCERT syllabus diligently have attempted the paper confidently.
Social Science educators Vishwajeet Pandey and Pratibha Singhal from Jain International Residential School, Bengaluru, described today’s paper as well-balanced across History, Geography, Civics, and Economics. They added that the paper was easy and followed the NCERT curriculum. Overall, they called the paper fair, student-friendly, and aligned with the prescribed syllabus.
Riya Gambhir, PGT History at St Angels School, said the CBSE Class 10 Social Science exam was easy to moderate and student-friendly. Most questions were direct, while some required factual answers. Overall, the paper gave students a fair chance to show both conceptual understanding and factual knowledge.
