CBSE Class 10 English Paper 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 10 English Paper today, February 21, 2026. The paper was worth 80 marks, divided into Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Literature sections. The early reactions of students suggested that the paper was easy and well-balanced. The Reading section was a bit lengthy. Literature questions were entirely based on the NCERT curriculum.
Under the Board’s new policy, students will be evaluated using a 9-point relative grading system (A1 to E). This is based on the percentile ranks rather than absolute marks.

Students said that the questions were directly taken from the NCERT books. Compared to Mathematics, the English paper was quite easy and manageable. Those who have practised enough questions on grammar and understood the theme of the literature chapters did quite well. The paper was completed within the 3-hour time limit, allowing some candidates ample time to revisit the answers.
