Delhi Air Pollution: The national capital’s air quality index (AQI) dipped to 293, placing it in the ‘poor’ category at 7 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The AQI has improved compared to the past few days. On Monday, the city remained in the ‘very poor’ category, with the AQI staying above 300. The 24-hour average AQI stood at 314 at 4 pm, according to the CPCB, compared to 308 at the same time on Sunday.

Delhi-NCR AQI 

Faridabad recorded an AQI of 137 (moderate), while Gurugram reported 313 (very poor). Yamuna Nagar registered 146 (moderate), and Firozabad recorded 140 (moderate). Indirapuram in Ghaziabad reported an AQI of 249 (poor). Gorakhpur registered 82 (satisfactory), Greater Noida stood at 231 (poor), and Noida recorded a very poor AQI of 314. Muzaffarnagar reported 273 (poor).

Area-Wise AQI In Delhi

Air quality across Delhi remained largely in the ‘very poor’ category, with several locations recording alarming AQI levels. Areas such as Alipur (281, poor), Anand Vihar (319, very poor), Ashok Vihar (305, very poor), Bawana (343, very poor), Burari Crossing (292, poor), Chandni Chowk (332, very poor), DTU (307, very poor), Dwarka (315, very poor), IGI Airport T-3 (216, poor), IIT Delhi (264, poor), ITO (294, poor), Jahangirpuri (332, very poor), Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (286, poor), Mundka (319, very poor), Najafgarh (279, poor), Narela (299, poor), DU North Campus (282, poor), Okhla Phase-2 (293, poor), Patparganj (307, very poor), Nehru Nagar (323, very poor), Punjabi Bagh (304, very poor), RK Puram (315, very poor), Rohini (323, very poor), Shadipur (308, very poor), Siri Fort (308, very poor), Sonia Vihar (300, poor), Vivek Vihar (323, very poor), Wazirpur (320, very poor), Akshardham (354, very poor), and Ghazipur (319, very poor), India Gate and Kartavya Path (265, poor), Akshardham (319, very poor) all reported severely degraded air quality.

Delhi Weather 

Delhi is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 23 Degree Celsius today, with strong sunshine and winds blowing from the west-northwest at about 11 km/h, gusting up to 30 km/h. Despite the pleasant daytime conditions, the air quality will remain in the ‘very poor’ category.

Neighbouring cities, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad, will experience similar weather, with maximum temperatures hovering around 23 Degree Celsius and gusty WNW winds. Air quality across these regions is also likely to stay very poor, while no rainfall is expected in any of the areas.

AQI Chart With Possible Health Impact 

0-50: Good; minimal impact.

51-100: Satisfactory; minor breathing discomfort for sensitive individuals.

101-200: Moderate; breathing discomfort for people with lung issues, asthma, or heart diseases.

201-300: Poor; breathing discomfort for most people on prolonged exposure.

301-400: Very Poor; may cause respiratory illness on prolonged exposure.
