T20 World Cup: Star batter Shimron Hetmyer etched his name in the record books by scoring the fastest fifty by a West Indies batter in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, achieving the milestone in just 19 balls during the team's Super 8s clash against Zimbabwe.

The 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle previously held the record for the fastest half-century by a West Indies batter in an ICC Men's T20 World Cup, attaining the feat in 23 balls against Australia in 2009.

Hetmyer reached the 50-run mark in style, throwing Sikandar Raza's delivery for a six in the eighth over of the West Indies' innings at Wankhede Stadium.

Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza won the toss and decided to bowl first against West Indies.

Richard Ngarava came in place of Wellington Masakadza in the playing eleven, while Romario Shephard came back in place of Roston Chase in the West Indies team for this game.
