Afghanistan vs Canada, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: Afghanistan's star batter Ibrahim Zadran produced an outstanding effort with the bat against Canada in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026match 39 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday, February 19. Zadran missed out on his outstanding century, but his 95-run knock helped Afghanistan reach a massive total of 200/4 in their 20 overs after being put into bat first.
During his stay at the crease, Zadran faced 56 balls and smashed 7 fours and 5 sixes. His performance is the highest individual score in a T20 World Cup match by an Afghan batter. The previous record was in the name of Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The latter played a knock of 84 runs from 42 balls for Afghanistan against South Africa in Ahmedabad on February 11, 2025.

In their final match in the competition, Afghanistan ended up registering their highest total in the T20 World Cups, going past their previous best effort of 190/4, which came against Scotland in Sharjah during the 2021 edition.
