DC vs GG WPL 2026: Delhi Capitals' star fast bowler Nandani Sharma has scripted history as she has become the highest Indian wicket-taker in a single edition of the WPL. Hailing from Chandigarh, she has taken 16 wickets after playing in nine matches this year and is more than Saika Ishaque's tally of 15 wickets for MI in WPL 2023.
Nandani, who has taken 14 wickets for Delhi Capitals this season, had taken two wickets on the first two balls of her first over of the ongoing Eliminator against Gujarat Giants. She first took the wicket of Anushka Sharma (16) and then dismissed the GG captain Ashleigh Gardner for a duck.
Apart from Nandani and Saika, Shree Charani is the other Indian bowler to have taken the most wickets in a single season. Charani has taken 14 wickets while playing for Delhi Capitals in WPL 2026.

Mumbai Indians star bowlers Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews have the record of taking the most wickets in a single season. Last year, both Kerr and Matthews had played in 10 matches and had taken 18 wickets apiece.
Nandani, who has played in her debut season of the WPL, needs to take three more wickets to surpass Kerr and Hayley’s record and become the highest wicket-taker in one season.

Nandani has taken at least one wicket in the ongoing season after playing in seven matches. She took two wickets in her debut match against the Mumbai Indians and then took a five-for against the Gujarat Giants.
